This is my family - my wife Tym, my daugher Kylee, who is an accomplished photographer as well, and my son, Rembrandt. They are my inspiration.
There is nothing I enjoy more than photography, but when I'm not snapping shots, I can be found behind a computer working in the world of IT. One benefit of this job, before my son arrived on the scene, was travel. I enjoyed taking the late flight home so that I could explore the city. More than sightseeing, I enjoyed talking to people. I started asking to take their portrait. Some would find it novel that a stranger would deem they are worthy of a professional portrait. This made me feel good. I felt like a blessing in life with this simple compliment.
After working on portraiture for quite some time, a photographer I admired asked me to assist at a wedding. I was hooked! It's the most important day of someone's life. It was an honor to be their historian.
I continued to learn and practice. I shot as often as I could, experimenting with every sort of photography. Headshots, concerts, sports and seniors, yet I kept being drawn back to weddings. It's my passion.
Over a hundred weddings later, I still love it just as much as the first.
Do what you love, and you’ll never work another day in your life.
